JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  PC12 Pilot

Department Name: Operations

Position Reports To: Chief Pilot or to the Director of Operations in the absence of the Chief Pilot

Summary:

Pilots are the foremost ambassadors to our clients, and the front line face of our company.  We are looking for pilots that can, not only be an expert at operating their aircraft, but also be an expert at taking care of the passengers they are flying.  Pilots will be operating mostly in a single pilot environment in the PC12, yet occasionally in a crew environment as well. Position may include flying other aircraft as well.

 

Purpose:

Vaerus Aviation manages 3 Pilatus PC12 aircraft.  To maintain healthy staffing for our flight operations we would like to employ an additional pilot that will be qualified in the PC12.  Vaerus Aviation is a steadily growing aviation company with likely opportunities of advancement for employees that embody our values.

 

Duties:

The following list represents the major tasks required of this position. Other duties may be assigned at the manager’s discretion when conditions demand.

1. Safe, and conservative operation of Aircraft

2. Customer service focus

3. Adherence to GOM and IS-BAO Accreditation Standards

4. Participation in and promotion of the Safety Management System, including evaluations of each flight leg and workplace hazard reporting

5. Availability based upon 24hr notice

6. 15-18 days per month of flight duty, multiple days per month at base completing non flight related duties

7. Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy and registered, and all required documentation is on
board the aircraft

8. Checks weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determines fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements

9. Determines the aircraft weight and balance

10. Ensures aircraft databases are current

11. Ensures EFBs are updated and adequately charged for the assigned flight

12. Ensures that all Flight and Trip Planning requirements have been met

13. Provides flightcrews with Flight Plan and weather information

14. Ensures that aircraft crewmembers have valid certificates, Medical Certificates, passports
and visas, when required

15. Confirms any nonstandard local environmental rules and procedures at destination and en route airports and notifies the flightcrew, as necessary

16. Completes an aircraft preflight inspection before each departure

17. Provides the Passenger Safety Briefing to the passengers

18. Operates the aircraft per manufacturer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and within aircraft limitations

19. Ensures compliance with customs, immigration and cabotage laws

20. Completes all postflight duties, including notifying the company of deviations to any planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location

21. Records flight times and aircraft defects

22. Various administrative duties

23. Cleanliness of Aircraft and Hanger

 

Qualifications:

1. ATP – Multi-Engine Rating

2. Second Class Medical or Higher

3. Excellent communication skills – communication is the #1 safety tool.

4. Willingness to relocate to the Topeka KS area.

5. The heart of a servant

6. Understanding of MS Office and iOS applications, with willingness to learn new systems

7. Self Motivated with attention to detail and drive for excellence

8. Willingness to sign a training agreement

HANGAR TECHNICIAN

Summary:  Act as the front line to Aircraft Hangar related responsibilities ranging from maintaining aircraft cabin stock, assisting with prepping aircraft for departures, receiving aircraft on arrival, customer vehicle detailing, hanger cleanliness, as well as occasional transportation responsibilities of pilots and clients to or from Topeka and Kansas City as needed.  The Hangar Technician position maintains the first level of visibility and care to our clients by way of presentation of the hangar, vehicles, and customer facing interaction.

 

Purpose: Vaerus Aviation is expanding.  To maintain healthy staffing for our flight operations and pilots we are actively seeking qualified Hanger Technicians to fill positions as they come available.  Vaerus Aviation is a steadily growing aviation company with likely opportunities of advancement of employees who embody our values.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Position Reports To: Director of OperationsLast Revised: 4-21-17 Summary:The Maintenance Manager will work with the Director of Operations in being responsible for managing and maintaining the airworthiness of Vaerus Aviation managed air-craft. Vaerus Aviation currently manages multiple aircraft in two locations; Topeka, KS and Scottsdale, AZ.  These aircraft include 7 types. – CL300, CE560XL, HS125, PC12, C421, C340, C310.  The Maintenance Manager is primarily responsible for maintenance on the CE560XL aircraft and those aircraft will always be the priority. The other aircraft are primarily maintained by third party service centers and require only squawk corrective actions if work-load allows. This position has opportunity for advancement to the Director of Maintenance position. Purpose:Maintenance Manager being an integral part of our organization, both in quality assurance and overall operational efficiency. This person will also play an integral role in the growth of our company and maintenance department.  The Maintenance Manager will be caring for the safety, records, maintenance, and aesthetic appeal of various corporate airframes. Responsibilities: • Ensures that all aircraft are airworthy, placing the safety of passengers and flight-crew as
first priority;
• Works in accordance with Vaerus Aviation’s General Operations Manual under IS-BAO Guidelines• Ensures compliance with all national and local environmental laws and requirements pertaining to maintenance and ground operations;• Complies with inspections, standards, methods, and procedures per all applicable CFRs and
manufacturer recommendations;
• Completes proper inspection records, reports, and forms required by the CFRs or manufacturer recommendations;• Inspects aircraft and approves maintenance actions, as applicable, in order to meet airworthiness standards• Participates in and promotion of the Safety Management System.

Other duties may be assigned at the manager’s discretion when conditions demand. • Plans, schedules, and budgets for all aircraft maintenance• Coordinates with regulatory agencies on maintenance topics;• Completes internal and supervises external aircraft maintenance;• Coordinates with all non-company personnel or Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs) performing maintenance on managed aircraft;• Establishes and maintains aircraft maintenance records required by FAA regulations, manufacturer recommendations and company policy in a highly organized man-or;• Ensures compliance with Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins affecting Flight Department aircraft;• Removes unsafe aircraft from service;• Removes aircraft from service that do not comply with the CFRs;• Ensures calibration of test equipment;• Ensures that products, parts, supplies, and consumables meet the specifications and requirements set forth by the manufacturer;• Monitors expiration dates for first aid kits, automatic external defibrillators, and other survival / emergency equipment, as applicable;• For flight crew member reference, reviews and updates emergency and survival equipment lists on an annual basis and/or as equipment and contents change• Plans for and meets scheduling requirements• Presents a clean and neat hanger and work area to our customers and staff.• Assures cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of each aircraft – interior and exteriorPerforms aircraft Towing, Servicing, and Pre or Post Flight Checks Basic Qualifications:The ideal candidate must posses the following qualifications and skills:• Holds a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate• Demonstrates knowledge of the planning, implementation, and direction of the
maintenance programs and control system for the aircraft operated;
• Possesses knowledge of the CFRs and standards relating to aircraft maintenance;• Possesses a Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:The ideal candidate should posses the following qualifications and skills:• Holds a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, with Inspection Authorization• Inspection or Quality Assurance experience• Advanced troubleshooting experience• CL300 Experience and/or Training• CE560XL Experience and/or Training• In depth knowledge of CAMP, CESCOM, and Textron ProParts claim process
